5 Tips for an Organized Bathroom
After watching the series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix, I was inspired to make a change with the environment I live in. Having spaces that are clutter free can really help to improve the quality of your life. To prove it, Marie Kondo has made a living by helping others do just that. These are some organizational tips that have helped me to keep a tidy bathroom that I’m going to share with you. These can also be applied to a pantry, laundry room, garage, or another similar storage area. You may have a different style than me which is totally fine and you can adjust as needed while still following a similar approach. Here are 5 tips to keeping an organized bathroom…
1. Baskets
Baskets are perfect for the bigger items that will take up more space. I love the look of the straw baskets and I think they complement anything simple, like clear bins. The baskets are also good for things that don’t need to be on display. For example, hair styling tools would be good things to put in baskets so you can hide all the cords out of sight. I also use them for towels and all my restock toiletries.
2. Clear Bins
Clear bins almost force you to be more minimalistic because you can see everything in them. It makes you more conscious of all the products you have and more likely to lessen your load because everything is visible. By using these bins, I had to get rid of many products I didn’t use that were just taking up space. The Container Store and Amazon both have a huge selection of these. Just a heads up…don’t walk into The Container Store unless you want to spend hours wishing to redesign every room in your house, haha!
3. Labels
Labels are a must in organization. This way everything has a category to fit into and if it doesn’t, either it doesn’t belong or you could create a miscellaneous. I chose the chalkboard labels because they would stand out against both the clear bins and the straw baskets. The washable chalkboard markers are a lifesaver so you can always change them up if you need to!
4. Drawer Organizers
I have no idea how I went without drawer organizers before, my drawers were always a mess. It is so nice to separate everything so they all have a designated spot that they fit into. The things I have in drawers I use daily or almost daily so that they are easily accessible. It is a lot more satisfying to look at rather than throwing everything into one drawer.
5. Aesthetic
Having a visually pleasing space is what motivates me to keep it that way by putting things back where they belong after each use. Everything having its own place and labeled clearly makes it look very organized and clean. The straw baskets and the simple clear bins balance each other nicely. Overall, a visually aesthetic and tidy space helps you to feel more relaxed and on top of things.
