Summer Wines Under $15

Untitled Design.png

With summer in full swing, I have been wanting to find some good wines to sip on all summer long. After some research, I decided on 6 new wines to try that you can get at Total Wine. I sampled a variety of sparkling, rose, and white wines. The best part...they’re all under $15! Hey, if I’m going to be drinking them all summer, might as well make sure they’re affordable! (I am not affiliated with Total Wine at all, just wanted to review some wines that I wanted to try anyway!)

Borrasca Rosé Cava ($9.99)

Cava is a sparkling wine produced in Spain. This dry, light-bodied rosé has cranberry, raspberry, and floral notes to it. I had high expectations because of the glittery bottle and luckily this wine tastes as good as it looks. It is the perfect balance of refreshing and fruity. This Cava brut rose is perfect for any summer party or by the pool.

Samuel Robert Rose Willamette "Vintner's Reserve", 2019 ($14.99)

This rosé comes from Oregon and is made from Pinot Noir grapes. Willamette Valley is considered Oregon’s wine country and it is where the Samuel Robert Winery is located. In this wine you will find notes of strawberry, red plum, and watermelon, which makes it the perfect wine for summer. This wine is SO smooth and full of fruit flavor. Since it is a Pinot noir variety, it is somewhat strong which can be dangerous considering it goes down easily.

Governors Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, 2019 ($12.99)

Many of my favorite sauvignon blancs come from Marlborough, New Zealand so I was excited to try this one. This crisp, light bodied wine has notes of gooseberry, passionfruit, and melon. This wine packs a punch of flavor. It is a dry wine, but I think even sweet wine drinkers would enjoy this because of how fruit forward it is. Will serve as the perfect crowd pleaser. I will definitely be purchasing this one again.

Atrevida Chardonnay Unoaked, 2018 ($11.99)

I hadn’t liked Chardonnay because I thought they all were heavy and buttery. I lean toward unoaked Chardonnay with their lighter, crisper taste. Atrevida Chardonnay is from Argentina and you will taste green apple and citrus, without the excess oak. The acidity from the green apple makes this wine very refreshing. Perfect for sipping on your deck with a good read while the sun is setting and it’s cooling down outside.

Il Duca Imperiale Peach ($11.99)

Do you love peaches? If so, let me introduce you to your new summer drink! This light-bodied, sparkling wine is full of peach flavor and so refreshing on a hot summer day. It’s a low alcohol wine so it’s okay that it goes down easy. I would recommend drinking this wine as cold as possible, so you’ll want to let it chill for awhile. Although it has very good peachy flavor, the crispness falls a little flat.

Alma Semi-Dry Sparkling ($4.97)

We have a rule in our house that we always have a bottle of champagne/sparkling wine on hand because you never know when you might have something to celebrate! It also goes in one of my new favorite cocktails, a French 75. So it was important to find a cheap bottle of sparkling wine to always have on hand. We tried both the brut and semi-dry, but I think semi-dry is better for summer sipping specifically. This bottle costs you less than $5 so feel free to drink it all summer!
