Girls Weekend in Nashville

What better way to celebrate a 25th birthday than a girls trip to downtown Nashville, Tennessee! We definitely underestimated how much there was to do in Nashville. We were able to check quite a few things off our Nashville bucket list, but there were still things we didn’t get to because we ran out of time. Although a long weekend seemed like the perfect amount of time, we will definitely be back to Nashville to experience even more! Here are some suggestions for an epic girls weekend.

Learn to line dance

This was something we stumbled upon, but we were so glad we did! The Wildhorse Saloon offers free line dancing lessons multiple times a day. It was super easy to follow along and a really fun atmosphere! We may have already tested out our new dancing skills at some of our local bars.

Ride a mechanical Bull

One of my girlfriends was brave enough to take on the mechanical bull (or had enough liquid courage, haha). The Wild Beaver had the mechanical bull, which just so happened to be next door to our Airbnb.

Listen to live music on a rooftop

You can find live music on just about any rooftop on Broadway. We arrived in Nashville around 11 in the morning and we could just follow the sound of the live music from our Airbnb. We were surprised to be on rooftops in November, but most had heaters. A few of our favorite rooftops were Kid Rock, Jason Aldean’s, Hampton Social, The Lookout at Ole Red, and Tootsies. There were also a handful we didn’t get to believe it or not.

Ride the Nashville Tractor Tour

This is an absolute must do! Imagine a party bus, Nashville style. It’s an open air tractor trolley, with a DJ, a bar, dancing and it takes you up and down Broadway. I would recommend doing it at night, because the whole street was lit up. We seriously contemplated doing it twice in the 3 nights we had in Nashville.

Brunch!

There are an unlimited number of brunch spots in Nashville so it is hard to go wrong. Biscuit Love and Milk & Honey are both in the Gulch (expect long waits on a weekend). We had my birthday brunch at Milk & Honey and loved it! Hampton Social is another really fun place for a girls brunch (just a heads up, the rooftop has a better atmosphere than the dining levels).

Explore the Gulch Neighborhood

The Gulch was one of the highlights of our trip. We ate, drank, took pictures with murals, and did a ton of shopping! Try to explore the Gulch when Amelia’s Flower Truck will be in the neighborhood to make your own fresh flower bouquet. A  handful of the shops here are owned by celebrities.

Visit the Assembly Food Hall

This is something we never got around to, but is definitely on our bucket list for our next visit to Nashville. The Assembly Food Hall just opened within the past year. It’s multiple levels full of food vendors, rooftops, bars, music stages, and is located right on Broadway.

Buy Cowgirl Boots

Most of our group bought cowgirl boots prior to our Nashville trip, but that didn’t stop us from going shopping at Boot Barn on Broadway. You might fall in love with the perfect pair to line dance in...When in Nashville!

Make Some New Friends

We met some really fun and friendly people while we were in Nashville. Everyone seems to have a couple things in common...an appreciation for country music and a good time! Don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation, you never know who you might meet!

Eat Nashville Hot Chicken

Nashville is known for its hot chicken...Hattie B’s and Prince’s Hot Chicken are two popular places to get your NHC fix and you don’t have to go far to find it.

Sip Moonshine @ Ole Smokey Distillery

You know those cute mason jar spirits you see in the liquor store...the distillery just so happens to be in Nashville! So naturally, we had to stop in. It’s actually a distillery and brewery that share the property, which makes for an even cooler experience. We did a moonshine, whiskey, and beer tasting for $10! Everything was decorated for the holidays and had a really cool patio/outdoor area to hangout.
